Molly’s Cirque Du Bebe Shower

What I love most about being an event/party planner, other than that I get to do what I really love for a living. Is that I can give my friends & family the best parties and memories. Which is exactly what I was able to do for my friend Molly. When Molly’s mom and sister asked me to help plan her baby shower, I knew I had to find a unique and fun theme as special as Molly and soon to be bebe Jackson. For inspiration,  I went straight to my favorite event site Hostess with the Mostess http://www.hwtm.com (check it out!). Cirque Du Bebe was the obvious choice.

All great events must start with the invitation. My go to guy, Keith Farnham of Farnham Advertising and Design: http://www.farnhamdesign.com (check him out also)

Oh, how I love the creating! Some of the shower elements that were a must have: cupcake tower, candy bar & centerpieces. Here are some pictures of what it all started as.

I had a picture in my mind of what a wanted the cupcake tower to look like. The challenging part was to find all the right pieces and put them together. I love creating things out of unusual objects or items that wouldn’t necessarily go together. The square box is a scrapbook paper storage box. The round container another storage box and the column a lamp shade from the clearance rack. Note the spec of pink fabric, I had to rip it off the old material (another fun part). Each level is a cardboard cake board covered in scrapbook paper.

The final masterpieces:

Add a beautiful backyard, turquoise linen, chinese lanterns and a fabulous dessert bar and what do you have…Molly’s Cirque Du Bebe Shower!

Note the awesome fabric under the centerpieces. The creation of Molly’s mom, Georgia!

Phoenix Event Planner | St Patrick’s Day and Easter Centerpieces

St Patrick’s Day and Easter, two holidays that when you think of them you think spring. I think projects, parties, friends, family and fun. My ideas are all about the kids, family time and an easy budget.

Shamrock Centerpiece and Easter Centerpiece: My favorite part about this project is you will use the same base for each holiday.
The backyard tree in need of trimming anyway.Step 1: Keep it inexpensive and start in the backyard. Trim a couple of branches and spray-paint them a bright lime green.

Spray painting the lime green branch.

Step 2: Find different size shamrock and egg templates line and trace them onto different shades and patterns of scrap-booking paper.

Step 3: To enable the shamrocks/eggs to be hung, use a thin green and purple ribbon and double-sided tape to secure it between two shamrocks/eggs.

Step 4: To keep the branch stable in the vase, use a pre cut piece of floral foam and double sided tape to secure the foam in the vase.

Step 5: What’s St. Patrick’s Day without a pot of gold? Chocolate coins are the first choice. If choosing a larger vase, use half plastic coins and half chocolate to keep the cost reasonable.

For the Easter version jellybeans are the obvious choice. Last step, hang the shamrocks/eggs and you have a fun festive St. Patty’s Day arrangement that will transition into Easter.

Martha Stewart Glittered ChandeliersGrandin Road is one of my fave online stores to shop for great decor items.  I was able to snag some incredible decorations in their outlet store after Halloween.  I’m so excited about the Martha Stewart Glittered Chandeliers I got. What a bummer that I have so long to wait to use them!
